Boulders Beach - Cape of Good Hope - Cape point.

On top of Casandra's list of 'Things to do in Cape Town' was go to Boulders Beach so we could see penguins.
The African Penguins come here so they can malt.
As summer is approaching, the penguins shed their winter feathers.
The next part of the day was to head to 'Cape of good hope'.
We quickly closed the windows when we saw this menace at the side of the road.

The southern tip of Africa - it was pretty amazing to visit here on one of our final days having spent three months travelling from north of the continent all the way south.
On the final night we headed to the beach to watch the sunset.

Around our way

Cassandra with Camps Bay as her background.
The beach was a short walk from our apartment and a great place to stay.
Clifton beach is made up of four coves.

Table Mountain

The plan.
I have to admit that 'Table Mountain' was a little steeper than I had imagined but it was a pretty stunning walk nonetheless.
The views get better....
At the summit.
From the top the coastline is incredible.
Looking down over lions head.
Cape Town and the waterfront.

South Africa: Arrival in Capetown

On the Waterfront....
Arriving in Cape Town I noticed how proud people are to live there.
Very quickly I could see why.
Some parts reminded me of Australia.
V&A Waterfront - A haven for shopping, activities and restaurants and bars.
The harbour area at the waterfront.
World cup stadium which we tried to get into but to no avail.

Jambiani

First impression of Jambiani was that it's beauty was a little less obvious compared to Nungwi. Rustic if you will.
The tide also seemed completely unpredictable being in one minute and then 3 kilometres away in no time at all. In this picture, an old lady had trapped a lobster in a small wooden pot but had stopped to watch a rat being attacked by crows.
Local children playing on Jambiani beach.
The rugged landscape gave it an other-wordly feel.
