Safari Day 3

Zebras are just one breed of animal that wander around the park and there are hundreds of them.
So too the giraffes but on this occasion we got very close to this one.
This is a dik dik, the smallest of the antelope family.
A baboon.
More thompson's gazelle.
Mongooses
We arrived up north eventually at Lobu camp where the great migration herds were starting the long journey.
Zebras leading the migration - they are more intelligent so the wilderbeest follow.
Wilderbeest
Whilst driving we came across a herd of twenty elephants - it was quite spectacular.
For some reason the warthogs are hilarious to watch, they walk like they are wearing high heels.
Buffalo Carcass
On the way to camp we caught a glimpse of a lioness carrying her cubs to a safer place.
Baby giraffes with their mother.
We saw this hyrax walking through the car park where we stopped for lunch.
This one was up a tree.
That night we camped right out in the middle of the Serengeti and amongst all the strange sounds we heard, the most distinctive was a lion's roar.
