Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater

Another early wake up call. This one was around 5am because Cassandra could hear buffalo chewing right next to our tent. It was no surprise as the night before we saw an elephant pass through the camp and the buffalo were around then too.
We were extremely lucky to see the lions for the second time and the mother moving her cubs.
We also noticed that some cubs had been left hiding in a ditch.
Returning into the bush.
Think this one heard us and was curious.
Top of Ngorongoro Crater - a volcanic caldera.
Heading down into the crater on the last day. We had seen 4 of the big 5 and were hoping to see the rhino to make it 5.
Grey crowned cranes
Then we saw the cheetah. We were but a metre away and watched it for about 10 minutes. It finally got spooked and when we followed it's gaze, we saw a lion about 50 metres away.

Eventually we found the rhino.
After staring for long enough you realise they are very strange looking.

On higher ground - heading out of the crater.
One last view looking back into the crater.
Outside the park, local farmers herding their goats.
